This incomplete artwork was created as a
pitch to a newspaper client who reported on stories in and around my hometown
of Durban. The concept that I came up with was that Durban is often overlooked
as a sleepy little coastal town, but if you look more closely you will see that
this is far from the truth. There are a lot of newsworthy stories just waiting
to be uncovered.
The roads form the word DBN - which is the
acronym for Durban. Unfortunately I never got to finish the piece which is sad
because I had a whole bunch of other scenes waiting to to be drawn in. The Blue
Light Brigade running cars off the road, corrupt politicians accepting bribes,
illegal dumping in the ocean, Justin Bieber landing and being chased by crazed
Beliebers... Hopefully one day I'll get to finish this.
